Buffalo’s own Godfather of Soul, "The Doctor" James Cornelius is on the air waves Monday through Friday from noon to 6pm James is a native of Buffalo, NY and currently lives in Amherst. He is a graduate of Kensington High School, played football at Hudson Valley Community College, and graduated from Advance Training Center in Radio Broadcasting.
Radio is truly James' love. His career started in high school where he deejayed dances. James' first professional job as an on-air personality was with WUFO 1080 in Buffalo. He was soon promoted to music director. FOXY 105 WFXZ in Columbus, Georgia later recruited James for afternoon drive where he excited audiences in both Georgia and Alabama.
He then returned to Buffalo and was hired by WBLK in 1989. James was soon promoted to production director where he was "The Voice" of BLK. James also tantalized listeners on the hottest overnight show with his smooth, seductive voice and crazy sense of humor.
James has a special love for contemporary Gospel music. He programmed and produced "Inspirations," the hottest contemporary morning show in WNY. He is the owner and operator of L ShaDi Production Company where he produces commercials, special programs, and voice-overs.
James is married to Lisa and they have two children together: Nichole and James Jr. James is a member of Elim Christian Fellowship under the leadership of Pastor & Teacher T. Anthony Bronner.
